It can be difficult to acknowledge when our relationship with substances or behaviors have started to feel less like something we control, and more like something that is controlling us. The guilt, shame and regret can be devastating. The damage to our relationships, work, health and finances are also consequences that can creep up, sometimes slowly, sometime all at once.
